Excellence is rarely an accident. It's a culture.

I had the pleasure of visiting Cornwall recently, dining at The Mariners and St Enodoc Hotel—both key pillars of the Paul Ainsworth Collection.
The immediate standout wasn't just the quality of the food (which was exceptional), but the atmosphere created by the team. Warm, genuine, incredibly attentive, and utterly seamless.
It served as a great reminder of a fundamental leadership principle:
How your team treats your customers is a direct reflection of how your leadership treats your team.
To deliver that level of consistency, people need to feel:
Trained to master the basics so thoroughly that execution becomes second nature.
Trusted to make real-time decisions to delight the customer without checking a rulebook.
Valued so that their pride in their work naturally shines through to the customer.
Effortless customer experience is always built on intentional, supportive leadership behind the scenes. Fantastic work by the Paul Ainsworth Collection team—a true benchmark for any service-driven industry.
Please note that I am very biased as my son Charlie (pictured enjoying a well earned beer) is a Chef at The Mariners! It is still all wonderfully impressive though and he waxes lyrical about the culture in action across the entire business.
